This film is a fairytale, reflecting our modern reality. You control a man when he's convinced that your word is law, and his submission is a virtue. People yearn for freedom, but rarely will they abandon convenience or comfort. When their environment becomes an ever-present and personal threat, hope becomes the refuge of last resort. Hope is offered in a grand vision. But, the vision hides a sinister agenda. We participate in our own deception. Persuaded by hope, we cheer the fraud. The few who dare to speak out are silenced. This familiar tale is as old as humanity. As we watch events unfurl on the screen, we begin to suspect that we endure similar demands in our modern lives. |
This is our reality today.
