Personal Attitudes On Self-Government
***Childhood and Respect for Liberty in America
From childhood, I learned from my parents and diverse family to respect the liberties and opinions of our fellow inhabitants of this great country and of our globe with our own; to heed the philosophy and tenets of the American Revolution and to give the benefit of doubt to our political leaders when their conduct appears to diverge from their lawful authority.Recognizing Errors of Judgment of Prior Generations
I also have learned during 55 years of cognitive experience that the last of these lessons is faulty. The conduct of people in our government should be often closely inspected and our trust carefully dispensed. They should never be trusted. People holding presumptions of power will exceed their authority to exercise those powers. They have, and they continue their abuse today..Individual and Societal Liberty Lost to Institutional ambitions and Schemes
In my childhood and teenage years, I experienced the liberty that our form of government is intended to protect. Federal bribery and unlawful coercion of State institutions has become pervasive. Liberty cannot be recognized in our modern society. People in government believe we are the human capital and labor resouces for the schemes and goals of our governing institutions. Capital and resources are not free... they must be managed and harvested.Few Public Servants Resist the Corruption of Constitutional Processes
With few exceptions, people in government now consider themselves personally unaccountable to the ordinary Citizen. The fewest of the people in our governments are those who have not betrayed our constitution.Public Servants Cooperate to Regulate Society for Institutional Purposes
Most people of our federal, state and local governments support and enthusiastically participate in the theft of our present and future prosperity by deception, duress and fiat.Serfing the Children
Today's children do not know liberty as we knew it fifty or more years ago. Their parents have adopted lives which accept the expansion of general, low-grade tyranny in exchange for government indulgences, personal comforts, privileges and benefits. They do not understand the dangers inherent in their parents' choice; they cannot recognize their own lost liberty. They cannot know liberty, because they have never been free. These are the first generations of servants of government, sacrificed to the consuming interests of institutional social destinations.Liberty Dies with the Free
I, and others of my generation and experience, know better of the dangers of government and loss of our liberty to government, because we remember liberty and know that we were more free then, than today's Americans can comprehend or (sadly) concede. Each generation arrives with inexperienced eyes to a more completed state of lost liberty and increased subservience. With no memory of freedom, new Citizens accept their semi-serfdom as the norm, instead of as the exception for our Citizenry.Mea Culpa - (I always have been slow to start.)
I will admit that I am late facing these discoveries. I can understand how easily our population has been betrayed and our liberty purloined. During my life's activities, as with most people, I had little interest in politics or the processes of government and even less knowledge of the principles and history of our self-government in particular. The rites of passage of my first job required the fraudulent demand for the chain of a Social Security Number, driving my parent's car to the movies required the surrender various rights by the fraudulent requirement for the chains of a drivers' license, my patriotic enlistment into the military of our country added additional presumptions and federal entanglements, each requiring surrender of inherent rights and liberty in exchange for sundry federal and State "privileges". I made the error of believing what my parents and government told me. They lied.Emergency? ... what Emergency?
I would often ask, "How can they do that? It's (pick one) "unconstitutional" or "illegal"!" My outrage and alarm would then fade until the next unconfined criminal act by some government person. The incremental effects of increasing regulation of business and society were also only passing concerns. How Many Alarms are Required Before We Answer the call?
About ten years ago, I finally stopped asking those questions and began my real education in American history, government, law and the philosophy of self-government by a free people. What I discovered, at first angered me. As my research matured, the results were clear and the extent of my previous ignorance astonished me. I regret my negligence and I hope with all my being, that I am not too late in realizing that the politics of self-governing are not to be left exclusively in the hands of career politicians and well funded interests.Well, I am Paying Attention at Last!
I am not one to sit and watch when action is required. I have continued my education, seeking some solution or remedy by which I could apply to the resurrection of Liberty and Justice in my time.Sorting Out the Confusion of Government Roadblocks and Diversionary Road Signs
Initially, in 1996, I decided to run for the office of Sheriff for Ventura county, California. The office has great powers for the duties and responsibilities assigned to it by the People. It was my intention to bring the office back to its fundamental duty, the defense of the constituents from criminality and to respond to acts of criminality regardless of the purported status of the perpetrators. I discovered that an amendment to the California Constitution removed the office of Sheriff, (as well as most other county offices), from qualification by the general electorate. That experience illuminated my ignorance of the processes of modern government and indicated how far from self-government we had allowed our governing processes to stray. After consideration of alternate methods in the processes of self-government, I realized that the California Constitution provided a method for Recall of elected officials. Recall is a very powerful and very effective tool for controlling elected officials. Recall is not very expensive to initiate, and it is certainly less expensive to implement than the cost of maintaining the laws, regulations and policies imposed by an undesirable office-holder. The effects of recall, successful or not, tend to impose a level of self-discipline upon remaining and future office holders and their party leadership that is enviable where the process is not available.
Daily Life Interferes with Public Duty
However, I prepared myself as a candidate for Congressional office. Frankly, if the truth be known, it is not possible to prepare for Congressional office, any more than it is possible to prepare for the Presidency. The ground and technical environment are as alien to a common citizen as would be the jungles of the Amazon. The language, customs, mores, ethics, rules and practices are as peculiar as they are different from our local life and government. In any case, I have studied and considered as well as I can and I am seeking the approval of my fellow Citizens and the voters of the 24th District by your selection of me as our Representative to the Congress. My Promise:
Shine a Bright Light on the Insurrectionists and Seditionists Holding Offices of Public Trust
If elected, the primary focus of my service will be to identify, illuminate and reverse efforts by the federal government to subvert our constitution. I do not recognize any duty to promote or prolong federal policies which do not conform with the principles so clearly pronounced by our Declaration of Independence and protected under the establishment of the Constitution for the United States of America.Liberty, Rights and Recourse
We are a free and self-governing People. The first and second amendments to the federal constitution secure the supremacy of our People, the Citizens of our states, over our government's people. Our Inherent Right to Criticize, Alter or Remove Part or All of Government and the Right to Assemble, Discuss, Decide and Act in Respect to Our Institutions for Governing are Immune, Entirely and Totally Exempt from any Federal Law, Regulation or Policy.
The First amendment to our Constitution incorporates an unlimited prohibition upon the Congress to make any law which intrudes upon our thoughts and beliefs, or on our ability to communicate our thoughts and beliefs, or our ability to gather to discuss and implement the revision or removal of our governing officials, processes or institutions. Our Inherent Right as Armed Citizens to Enforce Our Command of the People in Government to Obey Our Governing Decisions is also Removed from any law, regulation or policy of federal and State government.
The Constitution does not specify that the Prohibition is limited to the Congress. Our Second amendment to our Constitution for the United States of America is an unlimited prohibition upon any power of our governments, not merely a limitation upon the Congress. The term "Arms" is not defined, but the term is commonly agreed to include the necessary qualities of common, private convenience and the necessary military qualities required to counter and suppress illegitimate military forces by renegade, formerly "public", servants.Government Licenses Required for the Exercise of Protected Rights Renders Them Meaningless
The Second Amendment removes the means to enforce our rights and authorities protected by the First and Second amendments from governing authority and oversight by people in government, even against the powers which may be temporarily held by the people in government.Rights not Exercised are No Rights at All
Without effective, well understood and popularly practiced personal rights protected under the First and Second amendments, self-government is not possible at all and liberty itself is chimerical. The People who fear the people of government and will not exercise their common rights, have no rights. Logically, their opinions have no weight, because they will not or cannot defend them. When the people in government fear the People, their rights are respected and their liberty is secure.
The People and their Servants Would be Prudent to Read and Heed the Declaration of 1776
The People who do not fear their servants in government, and who exercise rights protected by the first and second amendments, find to their sorrow, that the protections of our constitutions are worthless in common practice. Public servants who disregard our fundamental reasons for the establishment of government should heed the fate of King George and the Loyalists of 1776. The Citizens have teeth and their liberty has more value than any government that does not serve faithfully and obediently. Our Time is Filled with Challenge Within and Without Our Country's Borders.
We face old and new Enemies; some, at home, by our common neglect and many others, abroad, under the false flag of our People. The Challenge of Liberty
Liberty is never given or granted, it must be taken with a positive hand and defended with diligent purpose. Our liberty has been mostly stolen away by deception, stealth and deceits clothed in expressions of security, comfort and good intentions. It is time to take our liberty back from those who would protect us from ourselves, from those who would determine for us the limits of our ambitions and who now forecast the fate of our children.I am volunteering to take our battle for liberty to the "Swamp".
I hope that you agree and that we are not too late to the task. Please Write-In my name, Henry Nicolle and Vote for me as our Representative.
Please vote for me, a vote to recover our liberty and to assure our children's future as free men and women, self-governed and unfettered by government's ambitious people.
