The Origin of Our Governments
Liberty cannot be denied to the Free Men and Women
of a Free and Self-Governed People
***
One hot, summer day in 1776, our founders held a secret meeting in a room with windows locked and shuttered, doors barred and lookouts posted. From that room, they delivered a document that condemned each man present as a deliberate and dangerous felon, terrorist and traitor.

The meeting was held secretly and behind locked doors because, had public notice been given, every one of the signers would have been arrested on the spot, imprisoned indefinitely and eventually, their property confiscated, their families scattered and their own bodies hung for their crime.

On that special day, July 4th, 1776, we declared our purposes for government and established the fundamental principles underlying the creation of our governing institutions.

They declared that our purpose for creating and tolerating government is
exclusively
for the defense of individual rights and liberty.

This principle evolved into our self-government of the states, and the union of states (the federal government), each and all in republican form (and although our governments are NOT democracies) with limited democratic processes.

So began our fortune as the Free Men and Women, a Free People, Free Societies of Citizens of Free and Independent states in cooperative federal Union, trusting to liberty and law, not powerful government, to inspire the establishment and enterprise of the greatest, most powerful and wealthiest country of recorded history.

From the first day of our liberty however, the chains of slaves to oppressive government have been reforged by our representatives and permitted by those of our meek neighbors who prefer childish submission to the dominant hubris of ambitious men and the false security of their promises over the vital and uncertain fortunes of liberty and self-determination.

Today, in 2004, as it was necessary in 1776, we must renew the benediction and mutual promise of liberty given over 200 years ago,

"--And for the support of this Declaration,
with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence,
we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor."

Please join me to recover our Liberty from our rebellious government.
(Liberty is never given, it must always be taken and aggressively defended.)
